The End of a Runner-Up Journey: Christine Juliane Opiaza Officially Crowned Miss Grand International 2024

 

In a moment that captivated pageant fans around the globe, Christine Juliane Opiaza’s journey as a runner-up came to a stunning and emotional close as she was officially crowned Miss Grand International 2024, making history as the first Filipina to win the prestigious title. The unexpected coronation followed the surprise dethronement of the original titleholder, Rachel Gupta, and took place at MGI Hall, 6th floor, Bravo BKK, Rama 9. Presiding over the grand occasion were Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil, President and CEO of Miss Grand International Public Company Limited, and Ms. Teresa Chaivisut, Vice President. A sea of Thai and Filipino fans gathered to witness and celebrate the iconic moment, joined by fellow beauty queens including Wiranya Berrie (5th runner-up, Miss Grand International 2024), Sarunrat Phuekpipat (Miss Grand Thailand 2025), Chayatanus Sornthad (1st runner-up, Miss Grand Thailand 2025), Lyn Dinobat Sebagai (Miss Grand Malaysia 2024), and Miss Universe Thailand 2025 delegates such as Paveena Singh, Narumon Pimphakdee, Deseree Timhede, Piyapas Sukwongsin, and Pornpaya Rianju. The ceremony began with a soul-stirring rendition of “One Moment in Time” performed by Nattha Intasao and Kanyawan Phetch-in, setting a heartfelt and powerful tone for the evening. CJ, radiant in a breathtaking green evening gown, walked onto the stage to thunderous applause and teary eyes. Host Champ Sakul Limpapanon then welcomed Mr. Nawat, who placed the crown and sash on CJ’s shoulders in an emotionally charged moment. Overwhelmed, CJ burst into tears and warmly embraced him, a gesture that moved everyone in attendance. In her acceptance speech, she described it as one of the happiest moments of her life, thanking Mr. Nawat and Ms. Teresa for believing in her, and promising to carry out her responsibilities with sincerity, dedication, and grace. She also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Thai and Filipino supporters who never gave up on her
